An open letter from the Executive Board regarding ACHEMA preparations and the impact of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)
Frankfurt/Main, 26 March 2020
We pride ourselves on connecting the process industry worldwide – so the ACHEMA community can explore, advance and share best practices and new ideas across sector boundaries, nations, and continents.
Therefore, our role as organizer is clear: to serve our communities in the widest possible sense. We do this with a strong belief in the power of people, ideas, and collaboration when it comes to advancing the process industry and thereby contributing to a sustainable development.
Together we are now facing a situation that is unprecedented for each of us. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is developing rapidly, and many of you are already taking extraordinary personal measures that we could not have imagined weeks ago. We all feel a sense of uncertainty and concern for the well-being of ourselves, our families, friends, colleagues, and co-workers.
Our staff is now working remotely for almost two weeks. By this, we can ensure the safety and health of our employees, but also the continuation of our business operations as well as information services. So we are always there for you and look forward to getting in touch with you. You can reach us during normal business hours both by e-mail or phone. We also stay in touch with you through our social media channels.
In these turbulent times, priorities may shift and of course exhibitions represent significant time and spend on the part of both exhibitors and visitors. Nevertheless, we believe in the importance of face-to-face encounters and in the fact that our community has a strong desire to meet in person. Therefore, ACHEMA preparations for June 2021 are not only continuing as planned – we are also working at full speed to come up with some new elements and crowd pullers, making ACHEMA even more interesting by addressing the changing needs of our community.
As SARS-CoV-2 runs its course, we will remain vigilant, although optimistic, and agile when and where necessary. We aim to continue doing the same thing we’ve been doing since the first ACHEMA opened in 1920: creating a platform that is groundbreaking for the process industry.
We wish you and your family continued health during this difficult time and look forward to welcoming you at ACHEMA 2021.
