ACHEMA Start-Up Award
Congratulations to the winners of the ACHEMA Start-up Award 2018!
Plasmion, HeiDelTec and Watttron are the winners of the ACHEMA Start-up Award 2018.
Plasmion convinced the expert jury with an "electronic nose" technology. The development of the company from Augsburg upgrades lab mass spectrometers to online sensors that can be applied in medical diagnostics or environmental analytics without sample preparation. Especially the versatility of the application convinced the jury that sees great potential even outside the lab.
„Gummi bears instead of syringe“ – with this motto Heidelberg Delivery Technologies GmbH, short "HeiDelTec", developed a drug delivery technology that enables the oral administration of peptides and proteins. Such active ingredients are used against diabetes and cancer, among others; so far, they had to be injected. The new method should be both more patient-friendly and have better pharmacological properties.
watttron has developed a modular heating system for defined zonal heating. As in a TFT display, single small heating circles can be regulated individually in terms of temperature. This allows for very precise heating that can be used for example in thermal forming. The jury emphasized the broad range of potential applications and the very focussed business model.
The three winners were announced during the Opening Session of ACHEMA and can look forward to a prize money of 10,000 Euros.
In the run-up to ACHEMA 2018, once again DECHEMA, the Business Angels FrankfurtRheinMain and the High-Tech Gründerfonds wanted to pave the road for innovation in chemistry, process engineering and biotechnology. For the second time they caledl for submissions to the ACHEMA Start-Up Award (ACHEMA-Gründerpreis).
From the first idea to the concept and business plan phase, the ACHEMA Start-Up Award supports (future) founders by providing what they need most: Advice and help from industry and finance experts, contact to potential customers and investors and a high visibility to the global industry.
