Information Platform for
Plant Engineers
Hall 9.1, Discussion Corner
» Friday, 26 August 2022, 10:30 – 12:30 h
Production engineers are systemically relevant – and not
just since Corona and interrupted supply chains. Production
engineers guarantee the manufacture of important goods in
the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. They bear a great
responsibility for their plant and for safe and clean production
with the best possible plant availability.
The “Information Platform for Production Engineers” is
an initiative of the VDI Society for Process and Chemical
Engineering (VDI-GVC), which deals with practice-oriented
problems of production engineers relating to manufacturing
plants. The concept is well established at Germany’s major
chemical sites and, thanks to digital media, now facilitates a
practice-oriented exchange of experience in the region and
beyond. It will be presented and moderated by experts. Short
contributions will be used to discuss current challenges faced
by production engineers.
The event will be held in German. Further information:

Strategies for a Circular Economy in Plastics:
The Role of European Diversity
Hall 4.C, Room Alliance
» Wednesday, 24 August 2022, 9:45 – 18:00 h
In 2018, the EU adopted a European Strategy for Plastics to
reduce plastic waste. This is intended to promote carbon
neutrality and a circular economy to achieve the United Nations’
2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The chemical industry
has been forced to rethink and review its strategies in the
polymer/plastics business. The plastics strategy aims to change
the way polymers/plastics are developed, manufactured,
applied and recycled. We therefore need joint efforts and
collaboration between industry and the scientific community
by promoting discussions and building networks to solve the
challenges of plastic waste. This event on the circular economy
is organized by the Chemical and Business Association (VCW).
The VCW is a forum where such discussions can be initiated, the
current state of the art and success stories from industry and
academia can be acknowledged.
